3. OTHER FRIENDS OF THE EAST FORK ACTIVITIES
A. Volunteers from FOE have helped put on slide and poster presentations on fish habitat restoration, stream improvement, and good land stewardship techniques. Presentations have been given to a wide range of audiences including: Hewlit-Packard Corp., Trout Unlimited, Clark-Skamania Fly Fishers, League of Women Voters, Clark College Earth Day, Battleground School, and also teaching sessions at Washington State University-Watershed Stewards Course.
B. FOE volunteers have been active in assisting local efforts to do stream water quality monitoring. Clark County, Watershed Stewards, and other entities work together to take the monitoring data at various stream locations.
C. FOE volunteers are also members of the State of Washington Watershed Assessment Advisory Team for the Salmon-Washougal and Lewis River Watersheds (Water Resource Inventory Areas 27 and 28). Meetings with the State Coordinators and Technical Staff occur at least once each month.
3. GOOD LAND STEWARDSHIP CONCERNS IN THE EAST FORK WATERSHED
A. CLEAN WATER ACT LAW SUIT AGAINST J. L. STOREDAHL CO.
FOE is continuing to press the law suit against Storedahl for violations of various parts of the Federal Clean Water Act. This an important activity in the task of getting "good land stewardship" effectively practiced in the East Fork watershed as well as establishing accountability for actions related to County, State, and Federal water and land resource rules and regulations.
B. BATTLE GROUND LAND ZONING UP TO THE BANKS OF THE EAST FORK
The City of Battleground has proposed to Clark County that it re-zone the areas north of the city that drain into the East Fork as "Light Industrial". Currently the areas are zoned as "rural". ETC.
